Math Hack — Privacy Policy

Math Hack is a browser extension that helps you solve math problems by chatting with an AI or capturing a screenshot of your current tab. This page explains what data the extension collects and how it's used.

What we collect

• Email address — used to create your account, track your usage against your plan, and let your access survive reinstalling the extension.
• Chat messages and screenshots you submit — sent to Anthropic's Claude API to generate a response. A screenshot is only captured when you click "Solve what's on screen," never automatically or in the background.
• Usage counts — how many questions you've asked, to enforce your plan's limit.
• Subscription/billing status — which plan you're on, managed through Stripe. We never see or store your card number; Stripe handles payment details directly.
• A session token — stored locally in your browser to keep you signed in.

What we don't collect

We don't track your general browsing history, location, keystrokes, or activity on other websites. A screenshot is taken only for the single tab you're viewing, only at the moment you click the solve button.

Where your data goes

• Anthropic (api.anthropic.com) — receives your messages/screenshots to generate answers.
• Stripe — receives billing information if you upgrade to a paid plan.
• Our own server (a Cloudflare Worker) — stores your account, usage count, and plan status.

We do not sell your data or share it with advertisers.

Local storage

Your chat history and session token are stored locally in your browser using the extension's storage. Clearing your browser's extension data or signing out will remove them from your device (your account and usage count remain on our server, tied to your email, so upgrading or reinstalling doesn't reset your limit).

Your choices

You can sign out at any time from the extension's menu. To stop using Math Hack entirely, uninstall the extension and, if you'd like your account data deleted from our server, contact us using the email below.
